chicago Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 Found a great link to porch construction guidlines under City of Chicago, that should be useful for all.
hausdok Posted June 11, 2007 Report Posted June 11, 2007 Thanks, Bob! That one went into the document library. Correction: Well, I thought it would. The danged URL is too long and gets truncated so that's going to have to be one that won't go into the document library. OT - OF!!! M.

chicago Posted June 18, 2007 Author Report Posted June 18, 2007 I had a good reason to need that thing at a recent inspection when the agent claimed the 3 story back porch had passed city inspection. The 3 stooges could have done bettor.
kurt Posted June 18, 2007 Report Posted June 18, 2007 Understand, it may very well have "passed" City inspection. I've found all manner of completely idiotic porches that have been approved by the City, including one that had (I'm serious) the ledger board hanging on vinyl siding w/16d nails. Download the inspection checklist and use it; it shuts up realtors really quickly.
