StevenT Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 Try a shop vac with extra extensions. Just make sure you tape them or put a small screw to hold them together or your next post will be... "How do I remove a vacuum tube from a vent pipe".
chicago Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 When I was a kid I remember overhearing someone mentioning they had got even for some wrong, by pouring cement down the vent pipe. Imagine try to get rid of that.
Steven Hockstein Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 My dad tells the story of some kids dropping pieces of 2 x 4 into the vent pipes when the wall studs were not precut. The plumber that found the blockage told him it was a fairly common form of vandalism at the time.

That was my first reaction as well... just befor the word "Methane" came into my mind. Better make that a shop vac with a sealed motor made for explosive environments. Probably get along with a normal one 999 times out of a 1000 but...
