Chris Bernhardt Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 I have always wanted to ask, should an inspector comment on dirty electrical panels? Are there any implications? Download Attachment: jse_IMG_6882.jpg 51.18 KB Chris, Oregon
Brian G Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 I think you should comment on any electrical equipment that dirty, but I wouldn't make a really big deal out of it. I'd suggest having an electrician vacuum or blow it out the first time they had one over for some reason. Any smart, handy guy could do it himself, but suggesting that would be....risky. And it's a Zinzco, of course. Brian G. Old & Dirty, Just Like Kurt []

Are there any implications? I wouldn't. If the innards are so dirty that I can't see what I need to see, I use a can of compressed air to blow it out. There's really no implication to that kind of dirt. Now if it were mouse nesting material or something that could catch fire I'd mention it. - Jim Katen, Oregon
