Bain Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I found it in a +/- fifty year old house. The plate merely says, "Automatic water control." The thing was wired into a 120-volt circuit beneath a kitchen sink. John Download Attachment: DSC02549a.jpg 186.48 KB Download Attachment: DSC02550a.jpg 193.82 KB
Chad Fabry Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Well system...or had one? Pressure booster pump switch?
Bain Posted May 11, 2007 Author Report Posted May 11, 2007 I can't know for sure, Chad, but the place was only a couple of miles from downtown, so they likely have always been on a utility-supplied water service. I actually Googled different iterations of GE and the model number and didn't get any worthwhile hits. Umm, and did I mention that I suffer severely from OCD?
hausdok Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 It's time to call Schenectady and talk to somone who can look it up for you. OT - OF!!! M.
Neal Lewis Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 I think Chad's got it. The rating for 1/3 horsepower is interesting. Maybe the pump part of it was located in the basement at one time?
Tom Corrigan Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 This is a flow switch. It allows power to the garbage disposer only when there is water flow at the faucet. Tom Corrigan
ozofprev Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 There's a garbage disposal? Well, why didn't someone say it was connected to a garbage disposal? Bain Posted May 11, 2007 Author Report Posted May 11, 2007 I never would have guessed. Thanks, Tom. I wonder if it was still working . . . I didn't energize the disposer sans water running.
Chad Fabry Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 Cool. Tom, I think we'll be meeting this week at the PV education thing in Troy. I look forward to meeting you and Arlene.
