Jesse Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Tonight on the History Channel, there are two Modern Marvels episodes some folks may find interesting. One on bricks, one on insulation. Around here, Bricks is on at 7 and 11, Insulation at 8 and midnight, central time. To all a good night.
kurt Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Seen 'em both; they're good. They did a Modern Marvel on Bathrooms last night; learned more about bathrooms than I care to know.
Jesse Posted April 12, 2007 Author Report Posted April 12, 2007 Did they talk about where your poop goes? Waste water treatment was part of my civil engineering education. Those were some fun field trips.
StevenT Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 I am doing some work in a large sewerage treatment plant on Staten Island. Indeed it is very interesting. There are a number of large aeration tanks. All workers are warned that if they fall in there is no saving you. The aeration causes extreme negetive boyency (I hope splelling doesn't count) and a person would drop like a rock. I had to obtain a number of certifications in order to work there.

I'd Rather Drown in the Rapids [:-yuck]
StevenT Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Brian, I never thought about that, but it does make sense.

ozofprev Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Ok, Mike Since you are on an avatar rant today, I have changed mine. In honor of Kurt Vonnegutid="size4">id="maroon"> I almost chose the Bush avatar in recognition of Kurt's last book - A Man Without a Country.
chicago Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 Com'on Mike don't you pull for the littie bitty wabit. It's classic underdog pulling out the win It's bugs bunny against will'e coyote Most of all it's me trying to begin a small business. With never learning how to type till after I bought this cursed machine a year ago. Then teaching my self enough about computers to start educating my self about a field that I thought was a no brainer during a time of down turning real estate markets, with increasing competition and little or no budget to advertise while attempting to avoid sucking up to droids. You go little bunny, yes you go and take care of those big bad wolves
