CheckItOut Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 I'm sure this has been beaten to death but I can't figure out how to do a search - I don't see buttons anywhere. So, wanted to get a recommendation on a durable CO detector. Do you recommend a passive type or should I spend the extra money on one with a pump? Thanks!
Brian G Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 It depends on what you're planning to do with it. If you only want to check for notable CO levels while you're inspecting a low-level passive is fine. If you want to check the CO output at a gas appliance vent hood you need the "pump & probe" type. Always recommend a low-level continuous monitor to clients with fuel-burning appliances & systems. That's the only meaningful CO protection there is. Brian G.
