zeb Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 I'm thinking about uping the ante and hiring an inspector to cover more inspections that I would normally turn down. Does anyone know what the going rate is for wages. Hourly or %. Not sure which would be the best for both. I do need to look out for who I hire so that I can get someone that will do a good job and will stay and not open up his own shop.
Jim Morrison Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 It varies greatly, but nationally, I'm told that inspector employees' total compensation is about 40% of the fee.
Les Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Don't even think about it until you been in business several years. I have been a multi inspector company for years and there is no "standard". Remember what got you to this point and if adding inspectors will maintain that level of service. Oh ya, clean up the reference to ASHI standards on your web site - spelled wrong.
