Chimney crown?

I remember someone going into great detail or linking to an article about the proper construction of a crown.

Please step up and reveal the link or the post.

I have searched with no success.

It was in JLC, search the archives.

I memorized it and have seen just one properly constructed crown since reading the damn article. It has, as a single entity, increased my report length by a full page on almost every house.
