Still...if it saves a few bucks, I might attempt it. OT - OF!!! M.
Terence McCann Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 I've been building computers since the 80's, it's really very easy to do. The best place to buy your computer parts is New Egg ->http://www.newegg.com/ Great service as well as great prices.
swolsen Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 I build all my computers but I get the parts from various places. I use pricewatch.com to get low prices available at the time for hardware. If I build a Windows box then I look for an OEM version of the OS other wise if I build a server I usually use Linux Fedora Core which is free.
blunsford Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Or just call Dell. They'll build it for you and you have none of the hassel, plus 24 hour tech support.
mgbinspect Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 I've been building my own and my kid's pc's for years also. You can usually build a "buckle your seat belt" pc for about $700.00 which sounds expensive, but a truly comparable pc pans out to be 2 to 3 times that.
cartess3 Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 Here's a great video clip on YouTube showing you how to put one together: http://youtube.com/watch?v=lVJ5ZEbf6F4 Cartess
