NJinspector
For those that email their reports to clients, are you converting your report to PDF? If so, what program? I see some free programs on the net, but wanted to start here first for input. thanks
gwharton1
Try PDF 995. Here is the link: http://www.pdf995.com/ It installs as a printer. You simply select PDF995 as the printer and designate the file that the process should print to. As price for free use, you will get one pop up add each time you use it. Given all the stupid system pop ups one already gets from XP, I have tuned the 995 pop ups out. Good luck, Glenn
kurt
I've got pdf995, Adobe Acrobat, Afiena, & the new Filemaker Pro has a built in .pdf engine. Any of them are fine. Afiena is kind of cool as one can take several .pdf files & turn them all into one .pdf document.
Terence McCann
I use EasyPFD, costs very little and has great compression. You can also select JPG quality in the menu. Most of my reports have 10-25 pictures and I average 1 meg per report. https://store.bcltechnologies.com/produ ... product=12 14.95. Maybe Mike can move this thread to an appropriate forum. Gibsonguy
I use PDF Converter Professional 5.0. It cost me $40 CAN from Staples and I can edit, form fill and even imbed video if I want. I use it not only for PDF creation, but also to digital sign and secure my service agreement.
Robert Jones
I have been using Nitro PDF, and it has worked great for me.
Steven Hockstein
search "dopdfv6". it is freeware that has been working great for us. After installation it becomes one of the printer options. It automatically creates a preview in Adobe and you save it as a PDF document. We have been using it for the past few years with no issues. RickSab
My HP printer has the option in the print menu. You can convert it right there. I also use a program called PDF Pen. It allows me to add text box's and/or edit text right in a PDF. I save a blank contract in PDF Pen and then I can fill in the text box with the client name etc., then print it as a PDF in my HP print menu. Then I email it to the client in advance so they can read through it before we meet. It can edit any PDF. it cost me $29 from Smith Micro
randynavarro
Regarding any of the PDF converters mentioned in this thread. . . . If I scan, say 10 individual pages, will the PDF program compile them in to 1 PDF document? Right now, I have to save 10 individual files for 10 individual pages. Robert Jones
Randy, My scanner automatically does that for me unless I specify different. For example, I have 5 pages to scan for the same file, I simply put the first page on the scanner, scan, then the software(came with scanner), asks if there are more pages. I use the Nitro PDF program.
