Chad Fabry Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 I've been privy to series of emails discussing bellybands and their proper installation. From what I get by reading responses and using my decoder ring, it may be just Z flashing. If it is Z flashing I'll be mildly irritated because I've googled my butt off looking for belly band. One caveat: if you turn off the safe search option, "belly band" does return some interesting sites. Someone. please settle this for me. I can't eat, I can't sleep. It seems all I can do is drink merlot.
Richard Moore Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Chad...If someone was discussing a belly band at the exterior of a house, I would guess that it's the mostly decorative wide horizontal board or molding often used at the transition from bevel to shingle sidings, or just to break up an otherwise boring vertical "wall-o-siding". Of course, that would need appropriate flashing. Did I mention that's just a guess? It could also be Scott's waistline, but I believe that is self flashing...and not a pretty sight when it is!
Bill Kibbel Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Horizontal trim board between levels of a building or at transition between different siding materials. More commonly called a band board now.
hausdok Posted July 14, 2006 Report Posted July 14, 2006 Belly band, belly board, both the same. Around here it's normally a 2 by 10 applied horizontally between floors of a house with a piece of z-flashing along the top edge. It helps to make a house look a little wider and lower. OT - OF!!! M.

johnmcda Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Sorry about the post - hit the wrong button. You guys need to understand the laxative equation. IN - OUT = ACCUMULATION You need to either eat less or crap more!
Scottpat Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 I'm in for a little weight loss competition!

hausdok Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 Medic!!!! Gasp! Can't breath....moving...toward....the.....light. M.[xx(]
charlieb Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 Well, with that .......said, shall we start a kitty?
Scottpat Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 I bet we could get a sponsor like FREA or Allen insurance. A healthy inspector is a better risk!
swarga Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 I weigh 220, I want to get down to 185 or down to a 32 inch waist. How much do we put in the kitty. I think its great that TIJ is going to match our donation.

swarga Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Well that was a chicken $#it response. Come on, Who else wants to join in. I would even be willing to put a smaller wager on losing weight before the ITA Expo in Vegas. Any Takers?
randynavarro Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 I'd join you all but I've already lost the 30# last year. Weight Watchers is absolutely the best (for anyone who cares). Its not really a diet. Just teaches you about the food that you eat and is easy to then maintain after the 'diet' is over. Good luck to all of you!!!
