mommabear3502 Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Yummy! This is on an apt roof in a not-so-nice part of Buffalo, NY. Just wait, I will share some of the really weird stuff I see on a regular basis. [:-crazy] Download Attachment: growth.jpg 95.33 KB
hausdok Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Hmmm, That amount of moss probably wouldn't qualify as an appetizer here in the Northwest. I've had roofs that were literally carpeted with that stuff from eave to ridge. OT - OF!!! M.
Brian G Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 You gotta admit though, the green is a lovely accent to the brown shingles, silver flashing, and red brick. [] Brian G. No Brown Moss After Labor Day (It's a Rule!) [^]
StevenT Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Lovely moss, nice effect. But, is that FLASHING? It dosenn't look right to me. Or is it an illusion the the "flashing does not go under nor stepped under each shingles?
hausdok Posted May 17, 2006 Report Posted May 17, 2006 Hi, Well, there is step flashing present under that counter flashing. You can see it at every other shingle peeking through the tab slot. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
StevenT Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 I was thinking about that, just couldn't see it and was wondering.
kurt Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 It's gotta be that rarity of counterflashing that's let into the brick. If it wasn't step flashed, it would leak like a sieve.
StevenT Posted May 18, 2006 Report Posted May 18, 2006 "Rarity"... as in the way it should be? At first glance I could not make out any step flashing, but upon closer inspection, I do see hints of what could be step flashing under the counterflashing. Perhaps I spoke too soon.
