hausdok Posted March 23 Report Posted March 23 So, I read where the Army was asking retirees to come back to fill certain positions where they were having trouble recruiting. There is no age cap, although they said that those over 70 usually would have a lower chance of being accepted. It's only to fill key slots that are critical to warfighting, and they won't have a shortfall of MPs, I'm sure. But, as a joke I mentioned it to Yung and said I was thinking of applying, just to get a rise out of her. To my astonishment she said, "Sure, why not? Go ahead." WTH! LOL, I guess she is really fed up with me being around all day. As Rodney Dangerfield said, "I don't get no respect!" (Please excuse the double negative.) 2
Bill Kibbel Posted March 23 Report Posted March 23 A spouse's retirement always eradicates the long established balance in the home. There are so many stories. This is one reason I refuse to retire (it would result in my quick demise}. The other is that my financial advisor said I can easily retire at 94, with enough to live comfortably for 11 minutes. 2
Les Posted March 24 Report Posted March 24 I held off until I was 76 and then worked part time for another 1 1/2yrs. Really: my biggest mistake ever was when I quit. I don't need the money, have no non-working friends, and the barn clean out only took two months. 1 1
