Name that roof material

Need your professional input here: What's this roof? Material? Maybe even a manufacturer? Installed correctly? Why is it buckling?

The home is located in NE Illinois.

It looks a lot like a composite shake, with maybe some heat warping but hard to tell without being up close. Don't see much of that around here in the Pacific NW, so I may be wrong.

Thanks, Zach. Someone said it is asphalt and someone said it might be a Brava....just trying to see if it could include or be partly asphalt. 🤔

It's a synthetic cedar shingle like Braava, Enviroshake, DaVinci, etc. It's either a defective shingle or it's installed incorrectly. In either event it's a complete tear off.
