MPdesign Posted October 6, 2022 Report Posted October 6, 2022 Good afternoon. I know that this is a bit off-topic, but I know that yo uare some smart guys who have seen alot. I have installed alot light fixtures, but I have never see a mount like this. This is for a chandelier at the ceiling side. Does anyone know how this was suppossed to be hung? It is threaded on the right side with female threads. There is an escutchean that slides over to cover this and the box at the ceiling. Thank you!
Marc Posted October 6, 2022 Report Posted October 6, 2022 If that's all if it, I suspect there's other parts missing.
Bill Kibbel Posted October 6, 2022 Report Posted October 6, 2022 The right end would mount to a ceiling bracket with a hex nipple. If you need to convert to male threads, a female-to-male adapter is called a nozzle. To obtain either, gotta figure out the thread ips. 1
Tom Raymond Posted October 7, 2022 Report Posted October 7, 2022 Many of the original ceiling lights on my old house were mounted to pancake boxes that had a male threaded nipple in the center of the box. Seems to have been a common box when converting from gas to electric lights. I'd wager it's 3/8 NPT.
