Jerry Simon
Do you use digital camera or your phone to take report phots? Pros and cons of either in your experience?
Marc
Camera. I use the 50+ zoom instead of binoculars for roofs too high/steep for me to mount. My iPhone won't zoom anywhere near that much. Plus, I can transfer photos more quickly and reliably by manual transfer of memory chip to my Mac (5 seconds). Since I've started that over 10 years ago, I've never lost any photos.
Trent Tarter
I use my iPhone. With iCloud photos automatically backup and upload to PC, I never have to directly transfer from my phone. For close up photos of two story roofs is use my drone for photos/videos. Jim Katen
I've used both, but I find that the phone is far less versatile. Aside from the poor macro capability and poor dark-attic performance, it's a terrible form factor for a camera; it forces me to use two hands to take a picture. With my regular camera, I take 95% of the shots one-handed. That just doesn't work with a phone.
Tom Raymond
I much prefer my camera. It's far easier to shoot one handed, and it has a wrist strap.
