MMustola Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 Does anyone have any experience with US Inspect? They have been calling me and I wonder if anyone have ever talked to them. I would be interested in hearing the bad as well as the good.
mgbinspect Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 The only bad I can immediately invision is making about half as much per inspection as you could on your own.
Robert E Lee Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 I too received calls from US Inspect to conduct home inspections for them. The last conversation I had with them was when I said I wouldn't discount my rates. Robert E Lee GENERAL Home Inspections, Inc
Neal Lewis Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 Mark, Are you looking to sell your business, or work as a subcontractor doing relocation inspections? I have only good things to say about the company; of course, I happen to work for them. They bought the company I worked for since 1986.
mgbinspect Posted March 11, 2006 Report Posted March 11, 2006 I've receieved two letters from them back to back, inviting me to sell my business and join their team, which is fine. I know most of the US Inspect guys in my town and they're all nice fellows. For me, it just doesn't make economic sense. It would be a GIANT step backwards financially and I'd be working for someone else. I just happen to like absolute freedom. There is a place for everyone and someone for every place.

I just happen to like absolute freedom. You've answered any question you had within yourself then. As for me, I will forever remain an Independant...[]
Scottpat Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 If you don't like being self employed and you want a paycheck along with the restrictions that go along with working for someone else, I would talk to them.
chrisprickett Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 I sold to LandAmerica Property Inspection (formerly known as Inspectech) last year. It has been a very positive experience for me. I will say, however, that there are many questions you need to answer for yourself in deciding if selling is right for you. In my situation, selling made sense. In others, it may not. It took me 10 months to decide.
