Mike Lamb Posted April 13, 2022 Report Posted April 13, 2022 100+ yr old multi unit. This was in the middle of the dining room floor. ??
Bill Kibbel Posted April 13, 2022 Report Posted April 13, 2022 This apartment building was probably a larger single family home with servants. That's the plate for a "butler button", which are very common in dining rooms of wealthier family homes. Sometimes they're in the floor in the library or parlour too - so you don't have get up to push the button on the wall.

Jim Baird Posted April 17, 2022 Report Posted April 17, 2022 If you scan it with your phone you can download the app that will bring one or more butlers scurrying to serve you, by subscription only. Deductible as meals and entertainment expense! I signed up last week.
