Jerry Simon Posted September 26, 2021 Report Posted September 26, 2021 On a slate roof, we use snow-dogs (a regional term I'm sure) to break-up sheets of ice or snow snow they don't slide-off the roof in large pieces and cause damage or injury. How would one prevent snow/ice sliding concerns for the panels on the front part of this garage roof?
Jim Katen Posted September 26, 2021 Report Posted September 26, 2021 We used to call them snow dogs in New England, too. It doesn't look steep enough to be an issue, but I'd probably devise some kind of extra-high snow dog to mount on the roof just in front of the panels.
Bill Kibbel Posted September 26, 2021 Report Posted September 26, 2021 The folks I know with solar panels keep them clear of snow at all times -- they seem to work better. 1
