chimney cap drainage

IRC calls for metal chimney cap to made so that water drains off.

See pics of new cap not draining.  Do you think the cap is not designed right, or is installation the problem?

I'd say it's fine.

Technically, I'd say it's not designed with enough slope to run the water off.

Realistically, there's bigger fish to fry.

It does keep water from getting where it doesn't belong.  Doesn't make it into my report.

Photo says non-issue. I would treat it like a flat roof. Will it dry off in 48 hrs?

Thanks for the replies.  In this case the installer did not like the photos when shown them and returned to correct.
