Matthew Jardine Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 I found this fitting and can't identify it or find any information on it. There were no markings on the piece that I could find. The guy doing the sewer lateral was also scratching his head. I apologize for the fuzzy pic. It's also the only one I was able to get.
Matthew Jardine Posted June 1, 2018 Author Report Posted June 1, 2018 I couldn't find anything on Google about a 4 way brass PEX fitting. There was a similar one but that was a female fitting and not made for potable water. Neither myself or the sewer lateral guy had seen one before. I was hoping you gentlemen would have some more insight....
Jim Katen Posted June 1, 2018 Report Posted June 1, 2018 It's certainly unusual, but not really a mystery. It just distributes water in 4 different directions. You can find similar fittings here: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/6-Way-Brass-Crimp-Fitting-Pipe_60751866129.html?spm=a2700.7724857.4.14.235f20ee2LHeXA&s=p http://www.temico.com/products/brass-fitting/5-way-connector-11035h http://www.sanitarytek.com/fittings/press-fitting-F09B-305.html I can see where it might be handy. You can run a pipe to a bathroom and, with one fitting, branch off to the toilet, tub, shower, and sink. It might be nice if the inlet barb were one size larger than the others, but it'd probably work fine as is.
Matthew Jardine Posted June 1, 2018 Author Report Posted June 1, 2018 Thanks Jim. I could not find this exact fitting anywhere so I was just curious if anyone could identify it. It also did not have any markings which concerned me some considering the quality of work (or lack thereof) of the PEX installation in this property. I appreciate the help!
