AllyBo123 Posted March 23, 2017 Report Posted March 23, 2017 I'm just getting started and working on getting my state radon license, currently have my certification. What is the difference between the SOP and the QA/QA plan? How do I create an SOP?
John Dirks Jr Posted March 27, 2017 Report Posted March 27, 2017 I'm curious how you would aquire a "certification" and not know the difference between SOP and QA/QC. May I ask where you acquired your certification? SOP is the methods by which you conduct the practice of performing the testing as a service to the public. QA/QC are tasks you perform behind the scenes to ensure that your equipment and methods are delivering results within a certain degree of accuracy. Licensing entities may require you to have a QA/QC program. QA/QC is also a good marketing thing since you can show the public that you are striving to deliver a good product. You show them through the documentation you develop in your QA/QC program.
AllyBo123 Posted March 29, 2017 Author Report Posted March 29, 2017 I believe that I made my QA/QC so detailed so I didn't see the difference or the need to have both as is required to get licensed in Iowa. Thank you for the clarification!
Les Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 Allison, do you have to have both in place to do screening/testing in Iowa?
Les Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 Yes I do. I read the act and came away thinking you did not. Maybe I should re-read it.
