help with insulation ID

I've never seen this stuff before. It was in an early 70's duplex in central MD. It appears to be a fiberglass mat of sorts. Each strip was about 3/4" thick and 8" wide.

Does this stuff have a name? What is it?

Could this be the stuff chimney guys use to seal gaps in fireplaces and flues?

It looks like ceramic fiber insulation - for industrial furnaces, boiler linings, kilns. Maybe Kaowoo or Unitherm.

Thanks Bill. I googled those names you listed and the pictures I see look very similar. The stuff was laid out in there overlapped and two layers thick. It was laid on top of a 3" fiberglass batt.
