robert1966
I have no earthly idea of what could be causing this ?!?! (Just Kidding obviously..!!) Just thought it had been awhile since I had seen a house with this issue, what about you?? Marc
This day I seem too lazy to try and figure what you're getting at in those photos. Maybe after the holidays...or maybe not. A little more info of a concise nature might help. Marc
robert1966
Well several different photos all having one explanation and turning copper lines black or corroding them should help narrow it down quite a bit!
Les
Well, I will bite. What do you think is the reason for the black copper?
robert1966
Y'all really don't know?! I know it happened in like 20 something states... It is from Chinese Drywall! Just don't see it as much because most people repair the issue and obviously they don't use it anymore...
Les
I thought, in error according to you, it may have been related to storage or charging of wet cell batteries, sewage, or any one of hundreds of chemical aerosols. I once lost nearly a whole tool trailer of finishing toos, because I stored paint remover under a workbench. I missed the reference that this was in a house that had gypsum board installed. I am just jerking your string.
Marc
In which year was the house built, if you know? Marc
Jim Katen
How did the drywall affect the downspout?

Marc
Les - lol , to your last comment. It was built in like 2005 I can't exactly recall. Then the interior corrosion could indeed be a result of Chinese Drywall. The Chinese Drywall issue didn't hit until after Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts began in Sept 2005. Contaminated Chinese drywall was here well before 2000 but only in small amounts until Katrina/Rita. Marc
