This guy i know seems to think that he can take a 110 volt outlet with # 12 gauge copper wire & turn it into a 220 volt outlet just by changing the breaker & the outlet. Sure that is easy, problem is the # 12 gauge wire right.This is for a( DRYER )

is this not a bad call ? fire hazard maybe?wire needs to be 10 gauge for a 30 amp circuit right.

That process will only work if the receptacle is a dedicated circuit. You cannot change part of the circuit and leave part 120v while making other part 240v.

The #12 is not large enough for a dryer that needs 30 amps.
