Tom Raymond
The governor's girlfriend did the the same thing. Nothing ever came of it. I got the only permit ever on my 146 year old house, and got my new tax assessment before I got my lumber. Hard to expect citizens to follow the rules when the government doesn't. Jim Katen
I certainly don't have an NYT account and it came up for me just fine. . . If you read the article carefully, something is missing. This paragraph, in particular, raises more questions than it answers: "Mr. Maskiell (the building inspector) told The Journal News that architects or contractors usually came by to file paperwork, but that homeowners were required to sign permit applications." Douglas Hansen
I certainly don't have an NYT account and it came up for me just fine. . . If you read the article carefully, something is missing. This paragraph, in particular, raises more questions than it answers: "Mr. Maskiell (the building inspector) told The Journal News that architects or contractors usually came by to file paperwork, but that homeowners were required to sign permit applications." In our jurisdiction, the architect or contractor files all the paperwork, and included in that will be a form signed by the owner stating that the contractor has their authorization. I am not surprised by the zoning violations that are also mentioned in the article. An area of single family homes is going to be overwhelmed by the number of vehicles and transient residents (secret service agents) using the property. Garry Sorrells
In my real world there would be a "Quit Work Sticker " slapped on the property. All work halted till all permits were filed and fines were paid. Did the Clinton's argue that the permits were in her server that she wiped clean????? Marc
That just means that the folks at NYT want you to have a subscription before you can take advantage of their online news. That way, they get info about you that they can sell to advertisers. Hmmm...yeah, Jim K's right after all: It's a setup. Marc
