Keyed sash

Have not seen this kind of keyed sash.

Like an old fashioned roller skate, this special key takes the screw all the way out. A real fire escape hazard.

Pretty common here. I carry a key.

When I was in the window biz there was a manufacturer that used locking sash locks. Turn to lock the window, press button to lock the lock, go find the tiny key to unlock your window.
