Marc Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 Can anyone tell me if it's ok to position a sanitary wye in a horizontal plane? Click to Enlarge 31.52 KB I'm looking for evidence that this work wasn't done by a professional plumber. Marc
Chad Fabry Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 The wye is suitable for horizontal to horizontal. The sanitary tee down stream should be a wye with an 1/8th bend or a combo.
John Dirks Jr Posted May 24, 2016 Report Posted May 24, 2016 Although the smaller downstream T is not code compliant, it probably will not cause a problem. Any sludge built up by the sharp transition will get washed down by the larger upstream line. Is that bamboo growing under there?

I had to 'swim' my way back there. Marc

The roots are relentless. They're coming up through the shoulder of the road and the driveway apron. I snap them off when they first pop up in the spring since they're soft and break easy. I've got some stalks nearing 3" diameter. This stuff is established pretty good. If I saw the roots shooting under a house, I'd flag it.
