Darren Posted April 3, 2016 Report Posted April 3, 2016 I know we discussed this before, but I cant find it here or in the code books. Can a shower door open into the shower? Click to Enlarge 36.81 KB
Bill Kibbel Posted April 3, 2016 Report Posted April 3, 2016 It depends on how fat the person is. The IRC specifically requires shower doors to open outward. I've never seen it in the NJ plumbing subcode.
plummen Posted April 3, 2016 Report Posted April 3, 2016 Ive never seen a folding shower door before.[:-bigeyes
rjbrown2 Posted April 4, 2016 Report Posted April 4, 2016 Could you make a life safety argument against an inward opening door ? A person who has become unconscious and is blocking the travel space for the hinged panels would make rescue difficult.
