John Dirks Jr Posted March 26, 2016 Report Posted March 26, 2016 The contraption appears to take place of the brake line proportioning valve on a motor home. It's mounted on the frame in the area under the drivers seat of a 2001 Dutchman on a Chevy Express 1 ton chassis. The brake lines run through it. It has a reservoir and electric motor. The whole thing is about the size of 4 bricks. What is this thing and what does it do? Click to Enlarge 77.42 KB
John Dirks Jr Posted March 26, 2016 Author Report Posted March 26, 2016 I know now. Lets see if anyone else knows.
Tom Raymond Posted March 26, 2016 Report Posted March 26, 2016 Antilock brake control. It makes it harder to stop, but the pads last longer.
John Dirks Jr Posted March 26, 2016 Author Report Posted March 26, 2016 Bingo! I can't believe I didn't know the second I saw it.
Chad Fabry Posted March 26, 2016 Report Posted March 26, 2016 Antilock brake control. It makes it harder to stop, but the pads last longer. Yeah, the pads don't wear at all after the wreck.
Tom Raymond Posted March 26, 2016 Report Posted March 26, 2016 I bought a 1990 Ranger brand new. It still had the factory shoes out back (rear anti lock only) after 200,000 miles.
Jim Baird Posted March 26, 2016 Report Posted March 26, 2016 ...what a kick. I do manufactured homes and modulars but not RV's.
