Denray Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 Not much power going to it. What do you think it would be used for? Click to Enlarge 23.1 KB
kurt Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 It's a receptacle that locks a similarly designed plug; I have them on my extension cords to keep them from coming apart.
Marc Posted October 29, 2015 Report Posted October 29, 2015 What Kurt said, locking weatherproof inlet (not plug, not receptacle). NEMA L10-30. Yours is likely there for a portable power plant, up to about 7 kilowatt (about 14 HP). Marc
Les Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 Denny, see what I know - I thought it was one of those strip malls that have discount stores! Outlet Mall.
Jim Port Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 It is an inlet so someone does not use a suicide cord to feed power back into the panel. Was there an interlock on the panel?
kurt Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 So what do you call those locking plug and receptacle things?
Jim Katen Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 So what do you call those locking plug and receptacle things? Twist locks?
Marc Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 So what do you call those locking plug and receptacle things? Twist locks? Yeah, that's it. Marc
John Kogel Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 So what do you call those locking plug and receptacle things? Twist locks? Yeah, that's it. Marc I found this - "NEMA L14-30 locking Extension power cords are 125/250 volts and four wire. Locking plugs have the pins arrayed in a circular manner. The plug is inserted and twisted to lock in place."'Locking plugs' The item in Denny pic is a recessed inlet box.
kurt Posted October 30, 2015 Report Posted October 30, 2015 The only thing cooler than twist locks are 20V battery power tools.
hausdok Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 RV plug-in or auxiliary generator plug in. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
