I finally sprung and got some of the fire hose cargo pants. Very comfortable indeed and should last a long time. Now I just have to make sure I don't get fat. But I guess a beer gut can hang over the belt.

Got some of the high tech shirts too.

The firehose in the winter, and the fireflex in the summer. 3 pairs each. If I am not hitting the town, I'm wearing them. 7 days a week.

Thier stuff is great. I have a tool bag that I have carried for 15 years and it hardly shows any wear.

I'd also like to point out I've had them wear out in the knee. Ship em back and they send me a new pair. No hassle. DTC is where its at.

I may have to switch from the Carrhart pants. They don't seem to last long enough.

Are the FireHose pants too warm for the summer?

Can the cargo pockets can hold a tablet?

They have two different weights Neal. Another option I have found, is the 5.11 Tactical Stryke pant. Extremely comfortable and stain resistant. Lot's of pockets, AND, a comfort waist;)

I'm also a big fan of 5.11. Taclite Pro in summer and Tactical canvas in winter. I love the built-in pockets for kneepads - which Duluth offers as well. The 5.11 canvas isn't as heavy as the Duluth Fire hose stuff, but it wears like iron. It's hard to go wrong with either company.

As a practical man, I also pay attention to Amazon when they blow out Levis cargo pants in my size for $23.95.

They got a nice little inner pocket in the cargo pocket that my Olight fits into perfectly.
