kurt Posted September 9, 2015 Report Share Posted September 9, 2015 They work great for a season or so, then they get gunked up on top with the usual decaying leaves and debris. Keeps out small leaves, pine needles, pollen sacs, bugs, etc... HD is the best place to get it. I used to have to clean out that particular stretch of gutter at least three times a year. Haven't cleaned it since I installed it and water still flows right through it. Flat metal with perforations work well if you have wind to blow the needles off. Or you hit them with a leaf blower. The debris dries out on the metal. The gutters with solid covers that have a little waterfall drip edge that shoots the water in thru a slot, those are the best, IMO. Those aren't bad either, but they're not good, and they still need some cleaning occasionally, which is a PITA because you can't get into the things easily.
