John Dirks Jr Posted May 31, 2015 Report Posted May 31, 2015 I found this yellow fluid in the air handler cabinet. Looks like anti freeze. It was also on the gas valve above as if it were dripping from there. Any idea what it is? Click to Enlarge 42.96 KB Click to Enlarge 51.31 KB Click to Enlarge 37.26 KB
Marc Posted May 31, 2015 Report Posted May 31, 2015 Looks like dye from the refrigerant system that was injected to help reveal refrigerant leaks. Is the cooling coil above it? If so, you've got a refrig leak...unless it's already been fixed and the AC guy couldn't be bothered to clean up the mess. Marc

Jim Katen Posted May 31, 2015 Report Posted May 31, 2015 It looks exactly like the fluorescent yellow bubble solution that I use to test for gas leaks.
Les Posted May 31, 2015 Report Posted May 31, 2015 I think Jim K has it. We used the stuff that does not freeze or evaporate.
Scottpat Posted May 31, 2015 Report Posted May 31, 2015 I have to agree with Jim and Les! With a gas line connection right above the area chances are pretty darn good?..
John Dirks Jr Posted June 1, 2015 Author Report Posted June 1, 2015 TY gents. Hope all you business is bountiful.
