dtontarski Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 I'm looking for the proper architectural term for this ornate roof runoff collection component on a 1929 Tudor Revival. Can anyone help me out? Thanks Click to Enlarge 71.34 KB
dtontarski Posted April 18, 2015 Author Report Posted April 18, 2015 Great term. Can't wait to work this into a conversation over cocktails some evening. Thanks Jim!
mlparham Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 Great term. Can't wait to work this into a conversation over cocktails some evening. Thanks Jim! I got brickfaced and tripped on a crenelated scupper.
In-Depth Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 ..."crenelated scuppers"... Right there is a band name!
kurt Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 I think it's a flat roof with a crenelated cornice. Those aren't scuppers. It looks like there's a downspout coming from an interior drain or inlaid gutter arrangement behind the copper crenelations.
Mark P Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/crenelated In case your like me and had no idea how to pronounce the word.
Steven Hockstein Posted April 21, 2015 Report Posted April 21, 2015 Attractive leaking built-in gutter system. "ALBIGS" for short.
