Reality Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 In this city, there's a free book called "The Real Estate Book." It's probably in other areas of the country. Many realtor and real estate company e-mail addresses are shown. How successful do you think it would be to send e-mails out advertising a HI business? I hate spam. Do you think they would hate these messages?
Scottpat Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I think you answered your own question! Email is for communication not for advertising, IMO.
chrisprickett Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 I experimented with sending Realtors very useful information via email. I emailed 400 agents, once a month for 4 months. Maintenance tips, checklists for getting their client's home ready for an inspection, etc. The ONLY feedback I got was asking to be removed from the list. I agree w/ Scott.
BlackJack Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 When was the last time you responded positively to an unsolicited e-mail? I know I have never spent 1 dime on any e-mail advertisement sent my way. But that’s just me.
Bill Kibbel Posted November 19, 2005 Report Posted November 19, 2005 In the subject line, if someone wrote "Home Inspections; I won't kill your deals", how many would open it? [:-dev3]
PWCameron Posted November 29, 2005 Report Posted November 29, 2005 I've been doing it for about 4 years. Only 2 times has anyone asked to be removed. When I meet people, they often refer to me as "the guy in my inbox". Recently, while working as a disaster contract inspector for FEMA, I put together some "Letters from the Field" and my wife sent them to my "list". Email seems to keep my name out there. Costs about 15 minutes of my time each month. Only send info people could use! Works for me. PWC

What works in Rochchester MN, may not work in Phoenix, AZ. Marketing is definitely more of an art than science.
