hausdok Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 My brother's boy Josh went into the Army National Guard about a decade ago, served a few tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and then decided he wanted to be a pilot. He just graduated flight school and was promoted from an NCO to a Warrant Officer. The attached photo is Josh and my brother Hugh who had the honor of pinning Josh's new rank on at the promotion ceremony. Click to Enlarge 55.12 KB
Les Posted February 26, 2015 Report Posted February 26, 2015 Really good looking kid! Your brother (and you) should be very proud. I am thankful for these young people that continue with their military service, on my behalf.
Scottpat Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 That's great, I know you are a proud uncle!
hausdok Posted February 27, 2015 Author Report Posted February 27, 2015 Damn straight I'm proud. Check out the cabbage on the kids chest Top to bottom Expert Infantryman's Badge Purple Heart Army Commendation Medal Army Achievement Medal Good Conduct Medal National Defense Service Medal Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal x2 Kosovo Campaign Medal Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal Global War on Terror Service Medal Armed Forces Reserve Medal NCO Development Ribbon (2nd Award) Army Service Ribbon Army overseas service ribbon w/one oak leaf cluster Army Reserve Component Overseas Training Ribbon Nato Medal with one oak leaf cluster. Pathfinder Badge. He might not be a ranger or SF, but the EIB and Pathfinder badge tells us he's little bit of a badass. The only thing I'm disappointed about is the fact there aren't any jump wings there. Oh well, guess he's not as crazy as his uncle was. He prefers to fly it instead of jumping out of it. ONE TEAM - ONE FIGHT!!! Mike
Jim Katen Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 That's really nice to see, Mike. Thanks for posting it.
Nolan Kienitz Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Very impressive Mike. Congratulations to all. I'm so very proud of those who have and do serve to protect us. I was not able to serve due to medical (Type 1 diabetic) and was very depressed when I could not join any of the military branches. I'm humbled daily by so many of you have have and continue to serve today.
