Neal Lewis
I don't get too excited about white conductors attached to a two pole circuit breaker, but this is the first time I've seen this. Is requesting re-identifying the conductors enough or should the entire circuit wire be replaced? Click to Enlarge 61.51 KB
kurt
Anyone stupid enough to run green hots is stupid enough to do a lot of other stuff. I'd take it all out. Then again, we're all EMT. Can you pull new wire?
StevenT
Disconnect, wrap with black tape, reconnect.
Marc
I don't see how that could be NM, which means it's likely greenfield or EMT. What Kurt said...pull it all out. Replace with black. Marc
kurt
Disconnect, wrap with black tape, reconnect. You'd trust everything else the installer did? In the amount of time it would take to track it all down, we'd just pull new and know for sure.
Jim Katen
If it matters, the NEC doesn't allow green insulation on ungrounded (hot) conductors at 120- or 240-volt wiring. Re-identification with tape is not an NEC-compliant option.
