kurt Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 No barbs or hooks, but these are about as close as I've gotten to something that grips.
Jim Katen Posted January 31, 2015 Report Posted January 31, 2015 No barbs or hooks, but these are about as close as I've gotten to something that grips. I've been liking 5:11 Tacticals (canvas in winter and ripstop nylon in summer). Check them out: http://www.511tactical.com/511-tactical ... otton.html For my body, they're more comfortable than the Duluth.
kurt Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 Look good. Duluth makes a stretchy type now that might be more comfortable. I'm just kinda partial to Duluth...they make good stuff.
palmettoinspect Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 Glad you're alright! Nothing wrong with the ol? crab crawl when on a roof, I've mastered it.
Marc Posted February 1, 2015 Report Posted February 1, 2015 If it's shingles, I use my hands and shift my weight towards them. Nothing gets better traction. It'll hurt though. Moss on a roof? Never seen it with my own eyes. On metal panels, I look for the screws and use my shoes. No screws? Sprout some wings. Marc

I've seen roofers using soft foam pads for traction on metal roofs. Works pretty good.
Robert Jones Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 Kurt, The "flexible" Duluth pant is awesome. IMO, heavy enough for all season's.
kurt Posted February 3, 2015 Report Posted February 3, 2015 I'm a big fan of Duluth. I should try them.
