Erby Posted December 11, 2014 Report Posted December 11, 2014 Isn't UF wire always gray. Couldn't read the markings on these wires going to the swimming pool equipment but they sure don't look like UF to me. Click to Enlarge 37.66 KB
Jim Port Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 UF was not always gray. I have seen white UF also. Side note, pools require an insulated ground so UF cannot be used.
David Meiland Posted December 12, 2014 Report Posted December 12, 2014 Just went through this on a job... we dug up some wire and all 10 guys on the job looked at it and said "that's not UF" because it looked and felt EXACTLY like regular Romex, and it was white, too. Then the electrician came over and looked at it and dug along until he found intact markings that identified it as UF.
