Tom Raymond Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 1946 Colonial with a c1980 addition. This is a 3' electric baseboard heater stuffed between a shower and a toilet. This can't be kosher, can it? Click to Enlarge 12.34 KB
John Kogel Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 We have a lot of electric heat here. It is not a serious hazard but they could downsize that heater to a 500 or 750 Watt for a bathroom. A lot of bathrooms have electric baseboard heat and people don't get shocked or burned. Something else I see here is corrosion on the top of the BB heater from dudes missing the toilet bowl. [:-yuck]
kurt Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 I asked about this some years ago. Hansen and Katen said its ok. Haven't heard different since.
Jim Katen Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 . . . Something else I see here is corrosion on the top of the BB heater from dudes missing the toilet bowl. [:-yuck] I see that every time there's a baseboard heater near a toilet, but I don't think that it's necessarily from missing the bowl. Plain old splatter will do it. Even without splatter, a lot of toilets create a mist when they're flushed. . .
John Dirks Jr Posted October 27, 2014 Report Posted October 27, 2014 Here's one I found not long ago. You really want to keep up on the plumbing in this case. Click to Enlarge 39.65 KB
