Robert Jones Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 This is the response to an FPE call out. First time in 12 years that I have seen this, on paper anyway. Click to Enlarge 46.52 KB
Chad Fabry Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Cool. They just insured that person's house against future electrical fire and possible loss of life.
Les Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I think that is a well written letter. It establishes a "point in time" and really says nothing regarding the controversy. The second to last sentence is the real clincher; they offered a prediction and they said operate. My experience is that the operation of the breakers is the potential problem. I like it. Makes your job easy.
Jerry Simon Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Ya know, when the client and/or seller can Google FPE and read for days, how much weight would such a letter carry for your client? I'll tell ya how much; zip, zero, nadda. (But you already know that.)
Robert Jones Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 Marc, The author of that letter, is the general manager of a local electrical company... Still wondering if it was a family member of the seller.
Scottpat Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 So that is from an inspection company and not an electrician? I love it! That is a letter I would have framed for the client so they can hang it next to the panel....
Robert Jones Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 Oooops. I misspoke Scott. It was an electrical company. I will edit... Sorry.
Marc Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 Do you plan to refute this clean bill of health? Marc
Robert Jones Posted September 4, 2014 Author Report Posted September 4, 2014 I have already shared with my clients, my opinion, along with links and videos of reports on the panel. I was very clear that the panel should be replaced. All we can do is offer our opinion and provide evidence and reasoning. The rest is up to the client.
Rob Amaral Posted September 5, 2014 Report Posted September 5, 2014 The letter is missing the IR scan they took of it...
