Click to Enlarge 64.31 KB Marc That is a tracer wire to help locate the buried plastic pipe, not a bonding wire.
Mark P Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 Interesting timing on this post - I just recieved an e-mail from a customer complaining that the gas meter ground wire was not connected. Thread Drift - This is a good example on why I like my customers to attend the inspection, so they can ask these questions during the inspection and not complain about some none issue later.
Speedy Petey Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 That is a tracer wire to help locate the buried plastic pipe, not a bonding wire. Yup, many utilities are going to poly gas pipe these days.

Discovered one of the two risers for my line had failed and I was responsible for the cost to replaced with a new/better riser. A bit of an increase in the budget to a gas line change when adding a gas cooktop two years ago for the kitchen.
