Robert Jones Posted August 8, 2014 Report Share Posted August 8, 2014 Had this panel yesterday. On the handle it states Federal Pacific. On the label, it states Stab-Lok. However, nothing about this panel looks like an FPE/Stab-Lok. There were two Stab-Lok breakers, but that was it. Is it an FPE/Stab-Lok panel? I remember taking off the covers and having all the breakers fall out, and being so dense that it didn't impress on me what a total POS the things were. I also had a fellow inspector remove a cover and the main came loose. They just need to be completely replaced anyway, why risk life and limb over that. Speedy Petey Posted August 26, 2014 Report Share Posted August 26, 2014 Yup, I had that exact 20/40 200A panel in my home when I bought it. I changed it less than a week after moving in, on my dime I might add. Yes, there are companies making legal FPE replacement breakers. Challenger was one I believe. And the skinnys are totally fine.
