I'm not sure I'm ever going to get to use that term, though; I can't even remember the last time I saw someone cut the flashing into the masonry. Standard practice now is counterflashing mashed into the brick & sealed w/ Vulkem. If the trade is getting fancy, they step cut the metal to look like it's let into the mortar joint, but it's still caulked in place.
