Mike Lamb Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 Would a bird do this? I thought it might be from a gun but I picked at it and found no shot. Click to Enlarge 87.19 KB Click to Enlarge 98.34 KB
Jim Katen Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I'm sure that woodpeckers *can* do damage like that. I don't known if they *would*. The last few days I've had a Flicker ratatattatting on the gutter outside my office. If he doesn't stop soon, I'm going to have woodpecker damage *and* bullet damage in my roof.
kurt Posted April 4, 2014 Report Posted April 4, 2014 I think they would if there was food in there. Which there probably is.

Jim Katen Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Christmas dinner? Did it get shot out of a cannon?
Marc Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Poor thing. Must have been startled at night and flew blind into the roof. Lightning at night has been known to kill thousands of bird at once that way. Marc Startled birds die en masse
rkenney Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 Poor thing. Must have been startled at night and flew blind into the roof. No way that damage was caused by self propulsion. Obviously fell from a height. Dead before fall.
