Denray Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 My dad has had a house for sale in UT for several years. Looks like it might go. My son, mechanical engineer, has always had an appreciation for the kind of tools he had stored there. So the wife and I drove 5 hrs to his house then another 10 out to UT. My son's diesel pu seized a wheel bearing on the way out, but we made it with only one day to load it up. 13 hr trip back to Sacramento area carrying 8k lbs or so. Is the truck going to break down again, running a forklift in a garage, etc. It all worked out though. Back at his house it was very difficult to find a forklift to rent on Saturday, but finally found one.
John Kogel Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 I think there are a few steep hills between your Dad's place and Sacramento. That must have been fun.
Denray Posted November 2, 2013 Author Report Posted November 2, 2013 Found out diesels don't hold back as well as gas unless they have a jake brake, which we did not. At least it was a fairly new rental trailer with a surge brake that worked well.
John Kogel Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Yes, you would not want that lath, milling machine(?) coming into the cab with you.
