I am doing some research on the environmental inspection and abatement industry and would like feedback from some grizzled pros.

1. What is the most important part of your job?

2. Is there any "pain" (time consuming tasks, frustration, inefficiency) associated with that task?

3. What are some routine tasks you do that could be streamlined with the right app or piece of software?

4. Last question: If you could wave a magic wand and whip up a tool that would make your job simpler, what would it do?

I look forward to your feedback!

Thanks,

Todd

Todd,

I am not sure that you will get a lot of responses, as most on this forum, are not involved in the environmental inspection or abatement industry. There are a few post's that cover quite a bit of differing opinions on the topic however.

Answers:

1. Being accurate and focused.

2. Dealing with companies and salespeople that try to sell me nonsense.

3. It would be great if there was an automatic way for me to screen out salespeople posing as concerned people attempting to ask real questions.

4. See answer for question number 3.

Tod, why do you need this info? Because if you need to make money you need to find people who need something you can provide. If you don't know what that is, you are in no position to provide it, IMO. [:)]

I think Todd's a programmer and looking for a project.

He's trying out different forums attempting to gain useful info.

I don't even know what the mission and scope of an 'environmental' inspection would be nor who would commission such an inspection.

Well, he posted this on an appaisers forum:

He also posted the same thing on InterNACHI that he posted on TIJ
