I have a Nest thermostat and love it. Might be something to look but at $129 each it would cost me $1000 to change my house out. Me thinks Momma might have other plans for that $1000!

The folks in China, and the principal that's here, are falling behind for the usual reasons. Capital is scarce for inexperienced startups.

Yes, the Nest is extremely cool. Interacting with it is just plain fun.

I'm expecting the Tstat to be just as cool.

As interesting as the unit looks, it will still need to be replaced after 10 years. I don't see where the added value is, other than it's a nifty gadget. Our house has at least a dozen units; I don't see spending $1560 to replace them. Do they "talk" to alarm systems?

Good point but if it can text my cell when they go off, I'd buy into it. I got two dogs at home nearly as close to me as my daughter. I'd wanna know.
