Boiler Pipe Patch

This boiler pipe looks like it has been patched with an iron paste repair compound. I have used Black Swan's iron paste to repair metal drain pipe with great success but do not know if this stuff will hold up under the pressurized conditions of a boiler. Any remarks would be helpful.

A steam heating boiler is only running 1-3 psi. The pressure doesn't seem like an issue. Changes in temps may have an effect.

Should have been more specific. It is a closed loop system but the psi isn't much higher at 12-15.

I'm wondering if anyone has any practical experience with this patch.

It'll work for a while. Then it won't.
